DELACROIX- (DON FREDERICO x MATCHO x ARGENTAN)
2003 Black, 16.1 hand, Hanoverian stallion offered for sale or breed lease. DELACROIX is the only son of the top producing Dressage stallion Don Frederico in the USA. Don Frederico, the elegant son of the legendary Donnerhall was Reserve Champion of his Stallion Licensing in 2000, and Champion of the Dressage section. Don Frederico was the top dressage producing stallion in 2006 and 2007 with an index of 161! He is ranked higher than Hohenstein (156), Weltmeyer (156), Caprimond (149), Londonderry (147), and Rotspon (146). Not only is he ranked higher than some very famous dressage producing stallions but he did it in his first year with recorded breeding values and with significantly less offspring than other Hanoverian stallions.
DELACROIX's dam, SPS Mijou, is a States Premium Matcho daughter and her dam is a States Premium Argentan mare, and her grandmother a States Premium Woermann mare. This mare family has been very successful at major mare shows, and the Argentan mother was European Champion and the grandmother produced an International Dressage horse!! This mare is an overall "8" with all scores in the 8-9 range, with two "9's" for rideability. Delacroix's dam was sired by Matcho x, the "noble black" Anglo-Arab with the "magnificent presence". "As a stallion who improves the breed Matcho is one of the rare stallions who improves type and presence...". Matcho was the Stallion Performance Test Champion at his testing. Known for producing refinement and high rideability in offspring. Sire of over 30 approved stallions, 7 of which are owned by the Hanoverian State Stud in Celle, Germany.
DELACROIX's granddam was sired by Argentan, was "1994 Hanoverian Stallion of the Year" producing 100 state's premium mares, 19 approved sons, and 500 of his offspring have competed successfully in both dressage and jumping guaranteeing Argentan a spot in the Club of Millionaires.
DELACROIX shows good rideability, trainability, willingnes to work, great jumping form/technique, strong self carriage, superior canter, elastic and forward gaits. DELACROIX showing at his first 3' Cross Country course boldly jumped everything in front of him with enthusiasm and bravely confronted ditches and water obstacles though never having seen one before. Won with a 29 at his first Combined Event and then took 66/68 at Training and First Level. At present he is training solid at 2nd level and will be shown on West Coast this Summer.
DELACROIX has completed both the 30 and 70 day Stallion tests with very high scores for Type, Trot, Canter and Disposition, Constitution, and Rideability and is fully approved with the AHS.
DELACROIX's first foal crop are all black, with their sires curious nature, sweet dispostion, and bravery, showing elastic, forward gaits. His type is very evident in his offspring thus far.
