Romulus is now working well under saddle. Even as a 3 year old, he is showing himself to be a smart, safe, sane, and reliable mount. He would be ideal for the amateur who's looking for a safe and respectful, yet very talented prospect. He has lovely, correct conformation, and fantastic, hard feet. He travels very well, is great for the vet and farrier, has no vices, and can be turned out alone or with other horses. He has no herd-bound issues, and has been trail ridden alone very successfully. This boy's mind makes him worth his weight in gold!
This grandson of the outstanding "dressage stallion of the century", Rubinstein I and the FPS approved stallion Wander 352 has it all. He has outstanding conformation, three great gaits, and a fantastic mind. He is sensitive, yet very sensible, and his temperament is extremely friendly and people-oriented. He has inherited strong, substantial bone and joints from his Friesian dam, and a powerful hind end and loin coupling from his Hanoverian sire. His movement is uphill, balanced and rhythmic. He currently stands 16h at 3 years old, and will very likely mature at 16.1-16.2h. Friesian Sporthorses with pedigrees of this caliber are very rare indeed! Rommi's proven bloodlines and outstanding mind give him incredible potential for a future in upper level dressage. He loads, bathes, clips, is good for the farrier and vet, and is very brave and independent. This boy's outstanding temperament, willingness, and potential will make him an excellent dressage mount for an ambitious amateur, or even a pro looking for an uncomplicated, yet talented youngster.
His sire, Hanoverian stallion Rubin Magic, is an approved son of the illustrious Rubinstein I. Rubin Magic placed a respectable 11th in the German World Young Horse Championships (Bundeschampionate) in 2000. His well known full brother, Rosenthal, is among one of the most successful Warmblood stallions standing in the U.S.
His dam, FPS Friesian studbook mare Wandria, is by Wander 352. Wanda is a fantastic producer and has had two 2nd premie foals for the FPS, and 1st premie foal in 2007 by the FPZV approved stallion, Tzar, that was the second highest scoring filly in the U.S. with a total score of 8.1, and no single score below 8.0!
As a 4 month old, Romulus received the impressive designation of Supreme with a score of 83, and was also Site Champion at the Harvey's Lake, PA AWS inspection at Peaceful Valley Equestrian Center on October 3rd, 2009. He was also the third highest scoring colt in the nation for the AWS in 2009. This score also allowed Rommi to be given the "bronze elite" status with the Friesian Sporthorse Association. As a 15 month old at the USDF Fair Hill Dressage Sport Horse Breeding show, he held his own placing a respectable 5th place with a score of 73.1 in the very large yearling colts and geldings class against some of the toughest competition on the East Coast.
Romulus's parentage has been verified via DNA, and is on file with both the FSA, and UC Davis VGL.
