Orbetello is a 2003 Approved Oldenburg stallion by Orlando. Orbetello boasts a pedigree with famous sires like Heartbreaker, Landgraf, Nimmerdor, Darco, Cor de la Bryere and LadyKiller! All of which are neatly packaged within one superbly designed creature who is successfully beginning his transition to the upper levels of the show jumping sport.
In 2012 Orbetello, campaigned by 10 time AGA rider of the year Margie Goldstein- Engle, blew away the competition at the Winter Equestrian Festival by becoming the 8 year old WEF Circuit Champion. He also made his debut in the Grand Prix division at the $25,000 ESP Spring Show with a strong 8th place finish. Orbetello also demonstrated his superb rideability and versatility by performing in, and winning several Amateur classes throughout 2012 WEF circuit.
Orbetello’s sire Orlando, is a BWP Elite stallion who was crowned Champion at the World Breeding Championships in Lanaken, Belgium as a 5 year old and a 6 year old. He has Grand Prix wins and top placings in Lumen, Aachen, Hardenberg, Wellington and more. Orlando has been described as “an excellent jumper with superb technique and a great deal of scope”. He is known to pass on his rideablity, athleticism and gentle temperament to his offspring.
On the Dam side we see the great foundation stallions Landgraf and his sire LadyKiller, along with the “Greatest Stallion of all time”, Cor de la Bryere. Each of these stallions were an integral part of developing the modern day Holsteiner Sport Horse. Landgraf has produced over 60 approved sons along with many successful International performance horses. Cor de la Bryere had 85 approved sons and 65 States Premium mares. Twenty of his sons appeared in the WBFSH rankings along with 12 grandsons. This dam line is an amazing compilation of some of the best stallions over the last century.
Orbetello is a stallion who demonstrates exceptional technique, carefulness and crafty scope. He’s sporty and quick in the ring while jumping with great maturity and composure. During his Oldenburg approval, Orbetello was given the highest jumping score of all time! Orbetello is a superb choice for the modern day sport horse breeder, and while staying currently active on the competition circuit, he is available for breeding with Frozen semen.
