Jamaica is a spectacular buckskin Swedish Warmblood mare with excellent reach, great tracking, and rhythmical gaits. She has a lovely soft mouth and frames beautifully on light contact. She has a kind and gentle personality and requires a soft and kind rider. She is a quiet horse, very willing and easy to ride by any level of rider.
Judges LOVE Jamaica. She competed in both Training and First Level (Open Division) dressage classes at recognized USDF-USEF shows in late 2005 where she won 4 of her classes and placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th in her other classes. At one competition, she received the third highest score out of all competitors across all divisions and had a top score of 65%!
Jamaica has also schooled over 3'6" courses and is a very brave and eager jumper. In 2009, Jamaica was shown for the first time in the hunter ring. After competing in 2 flat and 4 over fences classes, she was awarded Champion of the Green Division (2'0"), and Reserve Champion of the Open Division (2'3"-2'6") - an outstanding accomplishment for a first-time showing as a hunter.
A lovely mare, no vices, has been completely sound for the 8 years we've owned her. Always barefoot, completely up-to-date on farrier, deworming and vaccinations.
