Rodioso was foaled in 1996 in Germany and completed his 100 days test for the German Oldenburg Verband and earned a Class I license in 1999. His top scores were a “10” on character and a “9” on conformation and an “8” on ridability.
Rodioso’s sire is Rohdiamant was German State champion at age four and was rated among the top 5 dressage horses in the world when he was competing at Grand Prix with Olympic Medallist Lisa Wilcox. Rohdiamant traces his dam’s line back to Inschallah, the Anglo-Arab from the Vorweck Stud. Rodioso’s grand sire is the great Rubinstein I. His dam is by Furioso II, one of the most influential warmblood sires ever.
Rodioso has an excellent show record. In 2001 he was named Grand Champion Stallion at Devon. In 2005 he was Grand Champion Stallion for the Cosequin/USDF Northwest Series Sporthorse Breeding, he placed 4th nationally in the USDF Sporthorse Breeding Horse of the Year with a score of 81.25%. For the USEF in 2005 he was their Champion 4th level horse and received the Silver Stirrup Award. He was also the Dressage Sport Horse Breeding Stallion Champion for the USEF and received another Silver Stirrup Award.
In 2006 Rodioso began his career at the FEI level showing at Prix St. Georges. He had scores to 71%. In 2007 Rodioso was the Reserve National Champion Intermediate I horse for the Silver Stirrup Awards for the USEF. In 2011 he was USEF Zone Champion at Intermediate II and place in the Silver Stirrup Awards. Rodioso is licensed by the German Oldenburg Verband, ISR/Oldenburg North America and the Rhineland Pfalz-Saar for breeding. He and his regular rider Pamela Pentz train with 2012 USA Dressage Olympian Jan Ebeling of Moorpark, California during the winter months. He is currently schooled to Grand Prix.
