LOL is a future event and stallion prospect. He has 3 above average gaits – his walk is “cat like” with a huge overstride, his trot shows thrust and power behind with excellent freedom through the shoulder, and his canter is uphill, balanced, and bold/reaching. He is inquisitive by nature and is very calm and friendly. He shows excellent conformation and has been known to stop visitors to the farm in their tracks with his good looks. He was the Grand Colt’s Champion of the ATA’s Annual Meeting in the Mare/Foal show, which was judged by the Trakehner Verband’s Breed Director.
He is by the young, up and coming stallion, Tatendrang and is from his first foal crop. Tatendrang is by the stallion Onassis *E* who was approved in Germany and exported to the US after only a year of stud service in Germany. He has very few, but highly regarded daughters in the Trakehner breed in Europe, among them Premium Mare Indica, the maternal grand dam of the champion stallion, In Flagranti (S level dressage competitor at age 7), his approved full brother, In Petto, and the champion mares, SPS+PS In Zukunft, SPS+PS In Vita, and SPS+PS In Farbe. Onassis is also the dam sire of the CCI*** eventer, Seacookie TSF (ridden by William Fox Pitt and who was the Trakehner Verband’s Horse of the Year for 2010). Onassis’ dam, Ovation, was a foundation mare for the breed and also produced the full sister, Oda II, who in turn is the maternal grand dam of premium stallion, Okavango, and premium stallion, Oliver Twist, who is the sire of the 2007 Neumünster champion stallion, Grand Passion as well as the dressage stallion, Singolo. Also from this smaller family comes the approved CCI*** eventer, Oktavio (Germany). Tate’s dam is the Elite Mare, Tanzania, who’s dam sire, Avignon II, was a full brother to the breed’s outstanding major sire, E.H. Arogno, and helped to shape the young Trakehner breed in North America especially through his high quality daughters. The stallion line founded by his sire, Flaneur, is one of the strongest and internationally most recognized lines with significant influence also in other warmblood breeds. The dam line of Tanzania *E* goes back to the original Main Stud Trakehnen mare, Tapete, (by Pythagoras), whose family is one of the most successful in the breed today and has branched out into two major lines in Germany: the Tip-Top – Tilsit III family at Gestüt Panker, which stands for the stallions E.H. Tambour, Thalys, E.H. Tenor, Travell, E.H. Tivano and E.H. Tuareg and the Traviata – Tracht line at Gestüt Birkhausen that produced predominantly excellent show jumpers.
LOL’s dam, is the mare Lovely Lady, who has produced 9 foals to date ( 6 of which are of riding age and of those 4 of which are out competing in dressage and eventing and doing very well at Training - 2nd Level Dressage and Novice Eventing). Lady is by the imported German stallion, Tizian. Tizian was approved and completed the 100 Day Test at Klosterhof Medingen in 1983, where he finished 12th out of 29 stallions. He is of the Tapete mare line which is known to produce athletic sport horses for dressage and jumping. He has numerous offspring who competed, particularly in dressage, including Harlekin (who competed through Fourth Level), Murphie (competed under Murphie’s Constellation), and the approved stallion, Pusta’s Diament who competed under the rider, Willy Arts, through First Level. Pusta’s Diament sired the horse Marquis (amongst others) who was successful in dressage through Fourth Level with scores in the mid 60’s. Tizian is the full sister to the mare, Tosca II, who is the dam to the poplar, approved ATA stallion, Tribute who has offspring competing successfully in dressage. Tizian also sired the mare, Louisanna II while still in Germany. This mare is the maternal granddam to the approved stallion, Lombardi. Her dam’s half brother is also the great eventer, TSF Longchamps who was so successful at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. Tizian’s sire, Harisch, is closely related through the same mare line to the great stallion Habicht. Habicht of course is the sire to multiple international level horses in dressage, show jumping and eventing, and who sired 11 approved stallions. Some of the more famous Habicht offspring include the Olympic bronze medalist (for the USA) in eventing, Windfall *Pg*, Seeadler (who was a leading Show Jumper in Germany in the 80’s), the premium stallion Coktail (sire of the great Olympic bronze medalist for dressage, Peron *Pg*), E.H. Sixtus (who in turn has produced the stallion E.H. Buddenbrock), approved stallion, Balzflug (a leading dressage producer), Livius (international Show Jumper with Anne Kurinski) and Dekapo amongst many others. Tizian’s dam sire, Magister, is known for producing amateur friendly dressage and jumping horses. Magister himself produced numerous elite and state premium mares for both the Oldenburg breed as well as the Trakehner breed.
Lady is out of the Honor Roll mare, Lovedream who was imported from Germany along with one of her daughters (La Valetta). This “L” line stems from the Lori mare line which is a very small and rare line in Germany at this time as well as one of the oldest lines in the Trakehner breed. There are currently only 4 mares still breeding in Europe. This line is known to produce amateur friendly horses that excel in competition particularly in Eventing and Dressage. Lovedream’s dam sire is the stallion Karat, who is known to produce very successful show jumpers. Lovedream’s sire is the world famous Donauwind *E*. Donauwind has produced multiple international level performance horses in all disciplines. He is also the sire of 13 approved stallions in both Europe and North America. Some of his more famous sons are of course the incomparable Olympic Silver Medalist (1984), Abdullah *Pg*E* as well as Target (sire of the great eventing mare, Larissa), Unkenruf (sire of multiple upper level dressage horses), Fabian (a ¾ brother to Abdullah and who was a successful Grand Prix Dressage horse under R. Klimke), as well as the stallion Matador. LOL is up to date on all medical and farrier. Price is negotiable to a performance home and/or a home that will present him for stallion approvals. He is fully registered with the ATA, USEF, USDF. We expect that he will mature to 17 hh.
